Djing with the Blue SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Cable After 2 Years [Story & Review]
In the DJ world finding good reliable equipment is a difficult task, and this is no exception when it comes to USB cables for hard drives. Let me paint the picture. The summer night is blissful with the soft, warm wind blowing and the sound of birds in the distance. I head to the bus stop with my undiscovered cheap USB 2.0 cable ready to make happy people step in random directions while looking around. In simple terms, dancing. I show up to the semi-dusty DJ booth, with a gleaming, shiny midi controller and iMac, I then plug-in two essential DJ elements, the hard drive, and USB cable and fire up the Serato DJ software. The sound was a success! Music everywhere, everybody is smiling! Ok, then around 12:30 a.m. as we all party rock to the craziest beats, in the vibration of bass, all we hear is "Biggie, Biggie, Biggie can't you see, sometimes your screech, screech, screachhhhhhhhhh hypnotize me. I look down at the flashing buttons on the controller, everything looks great, check the iMac, running fine, the hard drive is still kicking, the only thing left was the cables. A long story short, I came to a DJ hypothesis that it was the 2.0 USB cord linked up to my external drive. It made complete sense, the factory USB cable provided by +Western Digital My Passport for Mac had its day. I then ended up on good old Amazon and found the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Cable by Sodial(R).
Fast Forward two years later.
The bright blue USB 3.0 cable has been getting handshakes and hi-fives from me ever since, but I know this cable can't be that perfect so, let's do the conga over to the review and check it out.
The ReviewSuperSpeed USB 3.0 Cable by Sodial(R)
- It's a bit tense, it holds its circular factory wrap right out of the plastic which at times, is difficult to weave around equipment.
The Pros | Benefits
- It's not fake. I left a great video on how to tell if USB 3.0 cables are fake below.
- Peace of mind at gigs.
- I don't know much about speed transfer and Gbps, but it has not acted up since I purchased it. If you would like more information on that stuff, click the product link at the bottom of the page.
- So far, it's very durable.
- The bright blue cable makes it easy to see in darker areas.
When I purchased this item on Amazon, I assumed it was genuine and Thank God it was. Websites like Amazon and eBay are like the wild west. You don't really know if the product is authentic and the only way to find out is from the reviews.
Would I repurchase it?
Would I recommend it to a friend?
